Today I had the pleasure of eating breakfast at Fritanga Tiscapa with my father, he is the one who knows all these Nicaraguan restaurants in the area. Shit its practically brunch and i was hungry! Fritanga Tiscapa is a small restaurant where they serve many Nicaraguan dishes in a cafeteria style. This place has existed since the beginning of my life lol. There are other fritangas in the same area but this place I know very well and it is not bad, minus all the weird people. You have to understand Central American neighborhoods to be comfortable in the area your in because it tends to get Walmart weird if you know what I mean. The cost of the food is not that bad and you get alot of food in return so you cant go wrong with that. The place is clean and has decorations that make the place look alive and filled with culture. I had the Carne asada con gallo pinto with tajadas and Rojita(Skirt steak with rice and beans with plantains chips and Rojita red soda). My steak was smokey hot just out of the grill and fresh. The plate was hearty and fresh and filling just like comfort food. I also had taquitos with central American sour cream with Kola Shaler(kickass soda). The Taquitos were okay i had better but still satisfy you especially the sour cream. The Kola Shaler is one of my favorite soft drinks that Nicaragua produces, it has a similar taste to Ironbeer but different. My father had the beef soup, he enjoyed it because he loves nicaraguen soups.
